Seedance AI in 2026: How to Use Seedance 2.5 for Ads

See what Seedance 2.5 changes, when it fits an ad workflow, and how to plan, prompt, review, and price one product-ad trial.

Seedance AI is ByteDance's family of audio-video generation models. Seedance 2.5 is the current version, with clips up to 30 seconds, image, video, and audio references, and more precise editing controls. Seedance 2.0 still exists, but a guide that treats it as the newest release will send you into the wrong access, duration, and production decisions.

For ads, the useful question is smaller: does one shot need Seedance's longer timeline and reference control, or would a shorter generation, real product footage, or an editor do the job with less risk? A 30-second generation can remove some stitching. It also gives a model more time to drift away from your product, claim, or planned sequence.

This guide explains the current model boundary and gives you a reproducible product-ad trial. We reviewed current ByteDance and BytePlus documentation, live result pages, independent reporting, and customer discussions on September 5, 2026. We did not run logged-in Seedance generations, so this is a documentation review and a test you can repeat—not a claim about output quality or ad performance.

The short answer

Use Seedance 2.5 when you need one longer audio-video scene, several kinds of reference material, or a timed sequence that would be awkward to build from many short clips. Start with a real product image or approved reference packet, describe the job of each source, and plan the timing before you generate.

Keep real footage when the action itself is the proof. A model can create a convincing software screen, package, fastening mechanism, or customer reaction that is still false. Use generation for the material around that proof, then assemble the ad in an editor where captions, claims, and the destination remain easy to check.

Do not choose 2.5 because the version number is higher. Compare one accepted output with a shorter model or supplied-footage control. Count rerenders and review time along with credits.

What changed from Seedance 2.0 to 2.5?

ByteDance launched Seedance 2.0 in February 2026 as a joint audio-video model with text, image, video, and audio inputs. The company introduced Seedance 2.5 on July 31, 2026 with three changes that matter to ad production:

The duration and input limits above come from BytePlus's current enhanced video-generation documentation. ByteDance's Seedance 2.5 product page also describes two extensions after the initial generation. These are capability limits, not a promise that every provider, plan, or interface exposes every control.

The older model is not suddenly useless. A 6-second product reveal does not improve merely because you place it inside a 30-second generation. Use the smallest generation that can express the shot, then judge whether 2.5's references and editing save real work.

Where can you access Seedance 2.5?

ByteDance's launch announcement says 2.5 is available through Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro, and its product page links to an API path. BytePlus also documents the 2.5 series in its production API. Third-party products may sell access through their own subscriptions, credit systems, resolutions, queues, and moderation rules.

That means “Seedance price” does not have one useful answer. Before paying, record:

  • the company billing you and the exact model identifier;
  • text-to-video, image-to-video, or multimodal reference mode;
  • duration, resolution, audio, and extension settings;
  • which inputs count toward usage;
  • whether failed or moderated jobs consume credits;
  • storage, download, watermark, and commercial-use terms;
  • the cost and behavior of a local edit or rerender.

Do not copy a per-clip number from a reseller into a budget for another provider. Even the official BytePlus pricing model varies with the request and returned usage. The practical comparison is the cost of material you can approve and use.

When does Seedance fit an ad workflow?

Seedance fits the generation part of the job. It can help create a product reveal, a connected lifestyle scene, directed B-roll, a presenter moment, or a timed sequence with sound. It does not decide which claim is true, whether the source assets are licensed, or whether the finished ad leads to the correct product.

This boundary matters because official model examples are selected demonstrations. ByteDance's launch page shows what the model can do under chosen prompts and references. It does not publish a repeatability rate for your product, account, or provider.

Customer discussions point to the same practical tension in plainer language: creators like the longer takes and reference control, but still report changing labels, handles, and colors and unclear moderation behavior. Those reports are qualitative rather than a benchmark. They are still good reasons to build a rejection check into the trial.

Prepare a reference packet before prompting

More references only help when their roles are clear. A folder of unrelated inspiration can pull the same generation in several directions.

For each reference, say what to use and what to ignore. A competitor ad may be useful as a pacing reference if you have the right to use it that way. It should not become permission to copy a creator, product, script, logo, or protected scene.

TikTok's current advertising policy prohibits unauthorized third-party brands and media clips. The safest source packet uses your own product, footage, brand material, licensed assets, and original direction.

Plan 30 seconds as a sequence

A longer generation needs a timeline. “Make a cinematic 30-second ad” leaves the model to invent the order, emphasis, and spare seconds.

Imagine an illustrative ad for a folding laptop stand. The approved product materials show the exact stand, three height positions, the folding action, and an included carrying sleeve. They do not say the stand fixes posture, prevents pain, fits every laptop, or holds a specific weight.

The real adjustment footage is deliberately preserved. Seedance can create the setting, reveal, and connective B-roll around it. The buyer sees the actual hinge when the narration describes how the stand folds.

Use a prompt that assigns references and timing

Adapt this prompt to your own product facts and interface:

Create a vertical 30-second product-ad sequence for the folding laptop stand.

Use @Image1 and @Image2 only to preserve the exact stand: silver finish, two-part
hinge, black feet, side profile, proportions, and carrying sleeve. Use @Video1 as
the real setup demonstration from 10 to 18 seconds. Do not regenerate, replace,
speed up, or alter that clip.

0–4s: A small desk feels crowded by a laptop lying flat. Natural morning light,
one slow handheld move. No product claim or on-screen generated text.

4–10s: Reveal the exact stand from @Image1. Slow push-in. Preserve the product
shape and hinge. Do not add ports, controls, labels, or accessories.

10–18s: Use @Video1 unchanged so the real folding action and three height
positions remain clear.

18–25s: Return to the same desk with the exact stand holding the laptop. Keep the
stand, laptop, desk, lighting, and camera side consistent with the approved
references.

25–30s: Hold on the approved product angle from @Image2 with calm negative space
for an editable caption and CTA added later.

Audio: light room tone and restrained music under the supplied demonstration.
No customer testimonial, health claim, universal-fit claim, weight claim, logo,
generated caption, price, discount, or watermark.

If scene movement conflicts with product accuracy, keep the product accurate.

This is a control brief, not a claim that the model will obey every constraint. Generate one version and inspect it before adding another reference, camera move, actor, or marketing angle.

How do you use Seedance inside Cospark?

Cospark's public workflow accepts an idea, script, product, image, or footage, then combines generated and uploaded media in an editable video. The exact controls available in a project may change, so describe the output you need rather than assuming every provider parameter appears in the interface.

For the laptop stand example:

  1. Start with an approved script or use Script to Video when the argument is already settled.
  2. Upload the exact product images and real adjustment footage. Use Image to Video for a restrained generated product shot when it adds something useful.

Review the output in three passes

Watch the draft once at normal speed for the argument. Then review the generated frames against the references. Finish by checking the published placement and destination.

Pass 1: Does the ad make sense?

  • The first few seconds establish one clear buyer problem or reason to watch.
  • Each scene supports the same product and promise.
  • The real demonstration is visible long enough to understand.
  • Narration, music, and generated sound do not fight one another.
  • The CTA follows naturally from what the ad has shown.

Pass 2: Did the model change the evidence?

  • Product shape, color, material, hinges, feet, packaging, and included items match.
  • The same person, wardrobe, voice, room, and lighting remain consistent where continuity matters.
  • Generated dialogue and captions preserve every number and qualification.
  • No actor claims personal use, a result, or expertise that the source packet does not support.
  • A local repair did not disturb scenes you had already accepted.

The FTC's reviews and testimonials FAQ explains that an AI avatar does not make a false testimonial acceptable. Use a synthetic presenter to explain supported facts, not to invent an experience.

Pass 3: Will it survive the destination?

  • Captions, the product, and any qualification stay clear inside the mobile crop and platform UI.
  • The product, offer, and next step match the linked page.
  • You hold the needed rights for inputs, music, voice, likeness, and output.
  • Required commercial and AI-media disclosures are present.

TikTok's current ad-disclaimer guidance lists an AI-generated-content disclaimer for synthetic or significantly modified media. Requirements vary by market and placement, so check the live policy before launch. Google likewise notes that app campaigns may crop, combine, or modify supplied assets; its current video asset specifications cover vertical, square, and horizontal formats.

Compare accepted output, not headline capability

Run the same source packet through Seedance 2.5 and one sensible control: a shorter model, a manual edit around your real footage, or the current workflow your team already uses. Force one local correction in each route.

Apply rejection rules before adding the score. A version with the wrong product, false claim, unlicensed source, deceptive presenter, or mismatched destination has failed even if the motion looks good.

The trial is useful even when Seedance loses. You will know whether its longer take and references removed enough stitching to justify the cost and review burden for this kind of shot.

Should you use Seedance 2.5 for ads?

Use Seedance 2.5 when a longer, directed audio-video scene or a rich reference packet solves a real production problem. Keep the job narrow enough to inspect, and use real footage whenever the product action or interface supplies the proof.

Choose another route when the ad is mostly supplied footage, needs a real person's experience, or requires exact product and interface behavior that generation cannot safely recreate. A simpler editor may return the approved result faster.
